The Husker Hombre says Nebraska rolls against the Golden Gophers. (Peggy Cain, College of Dentistry)
The Husker Hombre, otherwise known as dentistry student Paul Favela, may have been the only person in the country to pick a high-scoring game the last time out when Nebraska came back to beat Ohio State 34-27.

He also correctly called for a Husker victory, which makes him 1-1 against his Big Ten opponents.

This week he faces off with Renaisa Anthony, M.D., M.P.H., deputy director and assistant professor in the College of Public Health Center for Reducing Health Disparities and a University of Minnesota alumnus.

In her undergraduate years, Dr. Anthony and her cohorts in the Gopher student section got ESPN face time at home games in the Metrodome as they chanted “M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A! Minnesota! Minnesota! Yay Gophers!”

So what do the Hombre and Dr. Anthony think will happen Saturday when Husker Nation invades the Twin Cities? Read on to find out.

The Golden Gopher is the cutest mascot in the Big Ten, says Minnesota alumnus Renaisa Anthony, M.D., M.P.H.
The Hombre says, “The Cornhuskers head to Minnesota to take on an old rival in the Golden Gophers. Surprisingly, Minnesota leads the series 29-20-2. This week’s game should help close that gap. Expect a big game from our young receivers, Kenny Bell in particular. Although on paper the Blackshirts have fallen short of expectations, a combination of the comeback victory over Ohio State and a well-placed bye week should give the defense the spark they need to reach their full potential.” NU 38, Minnesota 9

Dr. Anthony says, “The Golden Gophers have the home field advantage at their basically new stadium. And come on, our gopher is just so very cute. Winning this game will be great but I’m really looking forward to rocking the latest fall fashion trend — maroon and gold! Go Gophers!” Minnesota 28, NU 21
