Dr. Marci Mylan has been named the new director for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS).
Dr. Mylan will be the senior official for the VA health care system that serves more than 161,000 veterans who live in Nebraska, western Iowa and portions of Kansas and Missouri.
Her new appointment is effective Jan. 15. Dr. Mylan’s appointment also will coincide with a promotion to the VA’s senior executive service.
Dr. Mylan replaces Al Washko, who retired March 31 after serving as the VA NWIHCS director for more than seven years.
