In the spirit of the Chancellor’s Holiday Tea, which will be held next week, let’s take a look back at a past campus holiday celebration photo featuring some key figures in UNMC’s history.
Pictured at the all-campus Christmas party on Dec. 23, 1964 from left are:
- Robert Grissom, M.D., UNMC’s first chairman of internal medicine, and his wife Virginia Grissom;
- University Hospital Administrator Edwin Ross and his wife, Virginia Ross; and
- Charlotte Wittson and her husband, then College of Medicine Dean and later UNMC Chancellor Cecil Wittson, M.D.
This year, the Chancellor’s Holiday Tea is on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium.
