A viewing will be held today in Omaha for Gregory “Doc” Coleman, a parking attendant for UNMC Parking Services who died unexpectedly on Saturday at the age of 45.

The viewing for Coleman runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral, 3920 N. 24th St.

Coleman had worked at UNMC since 2008. He started in the mail room before he moved over the parking services in 2009.

“In both positions, he interacted positively and pleasantly with so many on our campus and he will be truly missed,” said Tina Spencer, director of parking services.

He always was so nice. I rememeber him delivering our mail, and he always had a smile to share. I had to go to the bookstore to pick something up, and I saw that he had moved to parking services. Still had that great smile on his face. He will be missed. Such a positive person.

I am so saddened by this news. He always had such a great smile on his face every time I saw him, and he was always a pleasure to work with. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones; you will be in my prayers.

I remember Gregory as "Doc" back in earlier years. We grew up in the same neighborhood. He always had a smile on his face and a funny joke to share. I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
