What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?

I am honored to teach undergraduate nursing students in the College of Nursing. I enjoy watching students as they learn. Sometimes I can tell the moment when a concept or a point made in class stimulates their thinking and promotes new ideas. Their excitement and curiosity keeps me engaged in their learning.

Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC.

When the college is spread across five campuses, working together takes on an entirely new meaning. As GFO chair last year, I witnessed firsthand how the faculty from all campuses came together to do the work of the college throughout the year. As an example, we have passionate faculty and staff who want to continue to work on our curriculum at all levels (undergraduate, graduate) to address the needs of current and future students as well as the needs of the people our students will be serving. I am grateful to be part of this process.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I have two wonderful adult children and one great daughter-in-law.
  • I am a quilter and have been for six years. I hope to one day produce a beautiful art quilt. I got fifth place on a quilt I submitted to the state fair last year; my first ever competition.
  • My husband and I are “owners” of the Green Bay Packers. We have one share!
