Register for UNMC alerts

UNMC employees and students are urged to register and/or reregister for the UNMC Alert system, which was previously known as “e2Campus.”

If you previously registered for e2Campus, you should reregister for UNMC Alerts to ensure the contact information is correct.

Register for the new UNMC Alert system to receive notice on your cell phones about campus emergencies.
To register, employees can:
  • Log into UNMC ESS;
  • Click UNMC ALERTS found on the banner on the next screen;
  • Click “Sign-up for UNMC Alerts”; and
  • On the E2Campus registration page enter a password (you choose), register your devices and select location(s) from which you wish to receive alerts. Then enter the validation code it sends to your device.

UNMC Alert sends emergency messages to devices and addresses you designate. The messages are sent via:

  • Text messages;
  • Cell phones;
  • Email; and
  • Pop-up crawler alerts on networked computers.

When will UNMC Alert be activated?

UNMC Security will send emergency notices when events occur that may pose the risk of serious injury or death to those on campus. A pop up crawler alert also will be sent to networked computers.

What should you do when an alert notice arrives?

Take the appropriate actions based on the notice. The message will come from phone number “79516.”

Why should I sign up?

If you don’t register, you won’t receive the messages.

Is there anything else I should know about UNMC Alerts?

Some cell phone providers who offer unlimited text messaging plans may have in their contracts that they can block text messages that they determine might be spam. You may want to contact your provider and request that they not block text messages from “79516” as these are emergency alerts.
