Registration open for virtual Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum

Faculty reviewers needed

UNMC and Creighton University Medical Center are seeking faculty reviewers for the 2021 Virtual Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum on Feb. 27.

The forum depends on volunteer faculty support from both UNMC and CUMC to
review and critique abstracts prior to the forum and to judge oral and poster presentations the day of the forum. Each abstract is evaluated by three judges prior to the forum. The actual presentations also
will be scored by three different judges. Faculty can alert the forum to their interest
and availability here.

Registration is now open for the 2021 Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum (MSBRF) to be held virtually on Feb. 27. This virtual format allows those across the midwest to participate in the forum from the comfort of their own homes.

Students are invited to participate in the MSBRF, which provides an opportunity for young researchers from the health sciences, graduate, intern and resident programs throughout the Midwestern region of the United States and Canada to present their work in the biomedical sciences.

The forum gives students the opportunity to have their work reviewed and evaluated by faculty outside their own institution.

MSBRF provides the option of presenting research in either an oral or poster format, allowing students to present their research in their preferred format. Each abstract submitted to MSBRF is subject to the same type of peer review applied to the selection of manuscripts for publication in major scientific journals.

Registration and abstract submission information is available here. The deadline for registration and abstract submission is Jan. 11.
