At UNMC, 2010 started with a intensive relief effort in earthquake-rattled Haiti. It ended with the medical center celebrating it’s vitality during Spirit Week.

  • Alexander “Sasha” Kabanov, Ph.D., Parke-Davis Professor in Pharmaceutics and director of the Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine, is named UNMC’s fourth Scientist Laureate.
  • UNMC employees participate in the Push-ups for Haiti event.
  • John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D.,, announces that he will step down as dean of the College of Medicine. Rod Markin, M.D., Ph.D., is later named interim dean and a national search begins for a new dean.
