UNMC ice rink to open Nov. 29

The third season at the UNMC ice rink starts Nov. 29 and runs through Feb. 29.

The UNMC ice rink opens on Nov. 29.

For the first time, skaters will be able to enjoy the illuminated Hope Tower that stands directly east of the ice rink. The 120-foot tower was designed by James Carpenter, a New York artist internationally known for his use of light reflections.

UNMC students skate free and can rent skates for $3. Others — including UNMC employees — can skate for $5. This fee includes skate rental.

The skating rink hours are:

• Monday — Closed;
  
• Tuesday-Friday — 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.;
  
• Saturday – 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; and
  
• Sunday — 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
