Percussion and flute to be featured at Music as Medicine

Percussionist Tomm Roland and Maria Harding, principal flute for the Omaha Symphony Orchestra will perform at Thursday’s Music as Medicine.

Who:

  • Roland is assistant professor of percussion/multicultural music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he coordinates the percussion program, directs the UNO Percussion Ensemble and teaches courses on world music and rock ‘n’ roll.
  • Harding, according to both colleagues and critics, is an “artistic anchor” and “a truly remarkable musician” who has received much attention for her beautiful tone and her expressive and colorful phrasing.
