  • Name: Maedi Bell
  • Hometown: Omaha
  • No. of years at UNMC: 26 What is your best memory from your time at UNMC? Watching this campus grow has been so exciting. I know change is not always easy for everyone, but we have had such positive change and growth. Sometimes it takes my breath away. Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC. Only one? I guess I'll pick working together. I am fortunate to be involved with some fairly large projects — such as the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging and the Harold M. and Beverly Maurer Center for Public Health — during which I get the data connections ready for people to move in. These projects have a host of people working together — all toward the same purpose. When it all comes together and our folks are in their "new digs," it's a pretty proud moment for everyone involved. Also, I'm a part of the UNMC LiveGreen initiative. That is great example of people from all over campus coming together to work for a great cause. List three things people may not know about you.

    • I teach aquatics — therapeutic, aerobic, Ai Chi and Yoga. It's a little different from my job here. My job at UNMC doesn't involve swimming pools.
    • I just discovered I love to travel. My husband Bob and I spent 15 days in Central America to see if we want to retire down there. I love Costa Rica!
    • The last thing people may not know about me is that I'm ornery.
