Research interests
I have written curriculum for global health midwifery, pediatric and family nursing across 5 Universities. I am an invited lecturer for peer-reviewed conferences at national and international conferences concerning issues of survival and resiliency for vulnerable populations. I have expertise and research interest in maternal child and women’s health, (management of menopause, family planning, cervical cancer, intimate partner violence, adolescent development, sexuality education across the lifespan, undernutrition, lactation, stunting, child development and complications of pregnancy, along with normal pregnancy and sibling attended birth). Life-saving skills have been a major focus of my work nationally and globally, as the national trainer for vacuum extraction, and as a Master trainer for BeMONC, HBB, ECEB, ECSB, with the American Academy of Pediatrics teams and leaders from the global health community (Haiti, Uganda, Kenya, Mali, Tanzania. As such, I advocate for families and children. My work has centered on vulnerable populations and grassroots sustainable community empowerment.
