Town hall today on UNMC’s COVID-19 recovery plan

The UNMC community is invited to a virtual town hall today to learn more about the steps being taken to reopening campus this fall.

The town hall will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To keep the event secure, attendees may access the webinar link via the UNMC Intranet.

The town hall also will be recorded and available to view shortly after the event.

Following brief updates, UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and participating panelists will take questions from the campus community related to UNMC’s Recovery Implementation Plan, which can be found on UNMC’s coronavirus website. The living document outlines UNMC’s COVID-19 recovery plan including recommendations for effectively returning to campus. It also outlines steps in the development of an Office of Health Security, which will serve to coordinate the ongoing recovery from this pandemic.

Panelists include:

  • Ted Cieslak, MD, interim executive director of the Health Security Office;
  • Phil Covington, EdD, assistant vice chancellor for student success;
  • Dele Davies, MD, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs;
  • Jennifer Larsen, MD, vice chancellor for research; and
  • Aileen Warren, associate vice chancellor and executive director, human resources.

Members of the UNMC community are invited to submit their questions and comments by email — in advance or in real time — at unmcevents@unmc.edu.
