Frequently Asked Questions

What happens when I meet with a PAC consultant?

You receive one-on-one consulting to help you on the topics of your choice. You start by reaching out to a consultant via email. Your consultation could be a simple email exchange, or you can set up a full consultation in-person or via zoom. Consultants have access to a large volume of resources and their own experiences to provide solutions and help you be successful in and out of the classroom.

How long are PAC consultations?

You are in control of the length of your PAC consultation. Consultations can be a simple email exchange or up to an hour-long personalized conversation. Typically, a full consultation is an hour long. However, you may conclude your consultation at any time once you feel you have sufficient answers to your questions.

What can a PAC consultant help me with?

PAC consultants aide in all aspects of student life to foster success in academic, professional, and student wellbeing. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Time Management: Priority management, work/life/school balance

How do I book a mentoring session?

First, you can read through the profiles of our PAC consultants. Once you decide who to connect with, click on their email address in their profile to reach out directly to them with your inquiry and/or to set up a consultation.

How often should I meet with a consultant?
Studies suggest that mentees benefit most from a mentor-mentee relationship when meeting regularly. All UNMC students are eligible for one full PAC consultation a week while enrolled at UNMC. If you feel confident and have the keys to success after one consultation, that's great! However, feel free to schedule another consult with a PAC consultation if you have more questions. Again, PAC consultants are available for simple email exchanges to hour-long personalized consultations.
