Support for Women and Gender Non-Conforming Individuals

The GSRC welcomes and encourages people of all genders and sexualities to participate in the center’s offerings. This consciousness raising, safe space cultivates an environment of educating, advocating, and activating the local community towards equity and inclusion.

The center provides equitable and inclusive support services around gender and sexuality-based needs. These services include, and are not limited to, interpersonal violence trainings, LGBTQIA2S+ activism, womynist/feminist organizing, men and masculinity programming, healthy relationship trainings, bystander intervention workshops, active ally trainings, sexual and reproductive justice, policy reform, pay equity, and more.

Get Your Worth!: Salary and Benefit Negotiation Workshop

Within 10 years after a woman receives her first post-graduate job, she could have accumulatively missed out on $50,000+ compared to her male counterparts.

We want to make sure this does not happen to you and help you learn how to effectively negotiate your salary, benefits, etc. This workshop is aimed at ending the wage gap by preparing graduating seniors, but we encourage people of any gender and class standing to attend.

This workshop is best suited for groups of at least 5+ people. For more information, please contact Alex Pecoraro at apecoraro@unmc.edu.

Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night (TBtN) is an annual event sponsored by UNO's Women and Gender Equity Center student agency, the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center and UNMC's EMPOWER!

TBtN is an international event that happens in communities and campuses across the world. The focus is activating surrounding rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. These crimes are often labeled "crimes of silence" because of low reporting rates and lack of public discussion. TBtN invites you to speak about out by taking a stand and welcomes you to TAKE BACK THE NIGHT!

This event is open to all members of the UNMC and UNO communities.
